Which document formats are supported?
redct accepts text-based PDF, DOCX, and plain text (.txt). Scanned image PDFs and OCR are not yet supported — we will add them when we can guarantee the same review fidelity.
Are the exported redactions actually irreversible?
Yes. The exported PDF is flattened so redacted regions cannot be highlighted, copied, or extracted. The original text never appears beneath the bar.
Can I tell the system what to look for?
Yes. Add custom instructions before detection — for example, internal project codenames, client names, or specific contract language — and re-scan as the matter evolves without losing prior decisions.
